CRYOTHERAPY

ABOUT WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY

Whole Body Cryotherapy uses ultra cold temperatures to provide quick, powerful physical recovery.  The Cryo chamber surrounds your body, up to the neck, with extremely cold (up to -220°F) nitrogen gas.  This dry chill allows you to experience a cooling sensation while naturally triggering your body’s most powerful healing and wellness mechanisms.

The significant drop in temperature causes your body to activate a CNS (Central Nervous System) response that pushes blood to your core (for function of protecting internal organs) where it then recirculates. All cryotherapy sessions have a 3 minute maximum.

For hypothyroidism, TB, respiratory diseases, heart conditions, nervous system diseases and blood diseases, amongst others, there is a greater risk of cryotherapy side effects and some of them can be severe and/or dangerous. Additionally, there is a greater risk of cryotherapy side effects in persons who are over the age of sixty five, those with substance abuse problems, persons with emotional disorders and those who have known problems with cold tolerance. Cryotherapy can only be safely performed when the skin is completely dry, therefore, it must be done FIRST when paired with another service. Additionally, cryo is not recommended for use before floating, as the body releases endorphins during cryo, which may make it difficult to relax while floating. If you have made appointments that are in opposition to these recommendations, don’t worry, just get in touch and we can help you reschedule.
